Schwab download

Postby Rbel » Wed Mar 05, 2014 6:42 pm

I am trying to set up MyMoney Investments for the first time. I have created an account to access my data at Charles Schwab Inc.
I am able to test the on-line connection and verify that it has been established. The next pop up window asks if I want to download data now. When I clic yes, there is then a pause and a message "No data available for download at:...." I called Schwab and they do not support MyMoney. I am running this software on a new Mac, running MyMoney build 87. What's missing?

Hello,

Have you ever been able to download your data with other software, for example Quicken?

Thanks,

I was using Quicken with Windows XP on a PC for the past 10 years and recently switched to this Mac. Quicken accurately down loaded transactions from Schwab to the PC. I bought Quicken for the MAC but it is a pitiful program for investments. Mac Quicken will only download the ending balance on investments and not the transactions. I removed Quicken from this Mac and am starting over with MyMoney.

Hello,

What was the exact FID/ORG/Server address that you used, may be it is pointing to an old decommissioned server

We will double check,

Thanks,

Here are the settings in MyMoney
ORG: ISC
FID: SCHWAB.COM
OFX: https://ofx.schwab.com/cgi_dev/ofx_server

Incidentally, I thought I'd go to Schwab.com and make sure my ID and passwords were functional and the web site is down at this time "temporarily for technical difficulties".

I'm confused on the "FI Id 101".

When click on the Set up Bank Connection I get a pop up box with an number of fields that include:
Held at:
User name:
Password:
ORG:ISC
FID: SCHWAB.COM
OFX Server: https://ofx.schwab.com/cgi_dev/ofx_server
AppId: QWIN
AppVer: 1700

If I use the FI Url that is in part "/bankcgi_dev/", I get the message: "Unable to obtain account list from the bank".
If I use the OFX Server url that is provided and it does not have the word "bank" in it then I get a message that a connection has been established. But when I try to activate a download I still get that message "There is no data for the account: Bob's IRA."
Is this a problem with the account name that I applied when I set up the account? I tried to edit the account name to the account number or simply Rollover IRA (the title at the top of my statements) but I get the same no data message. Their web site is up tonight and I was able to log on and my data is there.

Please leave the parameters at the state where the connection test was successful

If you login to the website can you download the statement manually, please select all available date range and download as OFX or QFX formats

Please save the file to the desktop and then import it using File-Import menu

Account names will be resolved automatically

After import please try to connect again

If you still get no data message please save the ofx log and send it to us, we will take a look - here is how
http://wiki.mthbuilt.com/How_to_debug_Bank_connection

Before sending the log files please open them in a tex editor and sanitize them, remove account numbers, they are located in front of the file

Thanks

Not working.

First off the Schwab.com website does not have a designated download button. I can select History of transactions and on that page there is an "export" icon. If I export from the Schwab website there is no option on the download format, it is downloaded in a CSV format. I imported this into MyMoney and now I have 77 useless accounts each with one or more transactions. Incidentally there are tabs on the Schwab website for Balances, Positions and each page has an export icon.

Additionally I spent a considerable amount of time last week talking to US Bank. That is where my checking account is. I called to arrange for OFX downloads and after speaking to 4 different people, multiple security clearances, I was provided with ID and password to establish a connection. I was told that this should be active on 3-10-14. Using the provided ID and password in MyMoney I was unable to establish a connection today.

I am coming to the realization that this program is not going to work for me. Although I can connect MyMoney to the Schwab site, I can not get any data. With US Bank, I can not even establish a connection.

I give up. How can I get my money back?
