Convert from Quicken: MTH Instructions wrong

Postby nickbull » Thu Feb 12, 2009 11:36 am

The instructions for converting from Quicken to MyMoney that are posted in the MTH Wiki are wrong.

In the MTH Wiki, it says "Open My Money, click the File menu and Import QIF File. " (http://wiki.mthbuilt.com/How_to_convert_Quicken_file)

Using "Build 39, 1/16/09", Under "File", there is no "Import" option. There doesn't seem to be any way to read a QIF file.

So ... how am I supposed to convert from Quicken to MyMoney?

Further ... if you attempt to search this forum for "Quicken" or "QIF" it says that these terms are so frequent it can't search for them. That's pretty useless if you ask me. Just how is a person supposed to find things in this forum if key search terms are ruled "too frequent"?

That's strange. I'm using the same build you are, and under my "File" menu there is an "Import Data..." option, which includes a sub-option "Import QIF File."

nickbull: you need to create a database first.

Please use File-New-New File to create a database, once it is setup and functioning the Menu will change and Import will become available

Thanks. Will do. You might consider modifying that Wiki item :-)
