Canadian Bank Downloads

Postby dbellai » Thu Sep 03, 2015 2:32 pm

I tried to set up a connection with the RBC bank in Canada but the connection failed. For user ID I tried my bank card number and the associated password. The error I got back was that in needed to set up electronic banking with my institution. This is all in place. I contacted the bank and the tech I spoke to knew nothing about OFX connections. That person was not that knowledgeable and refused to pose the question to her peers. I tried emailing the bank to see if I could get someone who know a bit more about this. Has anyone been successful on connecting to RBC? What did you use for your user ID and password.

Hello,

You may need to have one extra step, please try downloading statements and saving them to your desktop first and then importing them through MyMoney import functionality. When given the choice please save the statements as OFX or QFX if it is available, MyMoney will parse the statement and load it into its database

Thanks,
