New User Setup

I purchased MyInvestment from the apple store last night. I am trying to set up my portfolios and enter the securities I own, and I am unable to set up Canadian Mutual Funds, even when I set the data source to Google Finance (Canada). For instance, on the Google Finance site I can obtain a quote for BTG 308, Beutel Goodman American Equity, but I cannot through the software, even when I enter the correct ticker symbol. Is it possible to manage Canadian investments with your software?

Hello,
MyMoney is using Yahoo and Google internally for the ticker resolution, you may need to change the data source into google.ca or yahoo.ca
Thanks

Where do I make the change to point at google.ca? I looked through the settings dialogs and cannot find where that configuration is defined.
Thanks

Hello,
When you are setting up a new financial instrument you can set where the data is resolved from:
For example:

BTG308 - Beutel Goodman American Equity Mutual Fund
This is just the first of many I need to enter, but I was trying to test the newly purchased software with just one security

Hello,
This is caused by a data licensing issue - the historical data for this fund is provided by a 3rd party aggregator that does not allow the charting data to be loaded into MyMoney
You can still get the end of the day pricing automatically, so all internal MyMoney calculations such as Gain/Loss (Unrealized and Realized), Internal Rates of Return etc are going to be correct
We are looking to add more data providers in the near future that will hopefully add better resolution for mutual funds
Thank you,
