New data base - import CSV file from MS Money

Just bought from apple store your APP.
I HAVE 2 PROBLEMS.
1 - The "new file" icon and the toolbar "new file" provokes the app to quit (?).
2 - I followed your instructions to export MS Money file to CSV format. I then tried to import it (10 years of MS Money transactions - 879 kb) and ... nothing happens.
Where is the file imported?

Just to remind you that I have just spend euros 49,99.

Thanks

Hello,

This happens sometimes on certain Macs - could you please download and install MyMoney from http://www.mthbuilt.com/download.php

If you run into "Invalid or Corrupt Application" issue after the download please do the following:

Please open your Mac preferences and look for Gatekeeper, it is
located in the General tab of the Security & Privacy preference pane
is a setting called “Allow applications downloaded from,” with three
options

Anywhere, Mac App Store and Identified Developers.

Please choose Anywhere - this will allow MyMoney to get installed,

Once you modified Gatekeeper please start MyMoney - you should be
able to run the software at this point

Please email us Apple receipt, we will convert your Apple license to our license

We will help you with the MS Money conversion once you have everything setup and running properly

Thank you,

Thanks for your prompt reply.
I finally was able to import Ms money file. Nevertheless around 5% of transactions are missing. You can imagine the work to revise around 25 accounts, lookout for missing transactions and insert it again. We'll....
Another point. Only after downloading you app I noticed that the free version is a free version from MyMoney investments and not from MyMoney finance, the app I paid for.
How do I upgrade from one to another once I have a medium number of stocks/bonds.
Thanks again.
I will follow your advise to try to correct the "new file" bug.

I am now a step ahead.
I swap "mymoney" with "my money - investmets" with apple store.
Now I am trying to start working with "my money - investments".
It has the same problem with "new file" icon and tool bar: the app quits.
I tried to download from your site but I can´t find the "my money - investments" version.
Help.

Diogo

Hello,

The trial version from our site does contain the Investments functionality - we don't separate it into a different product like we do on the Mac Store

The conversion happens during the licensing process - different licenses lock and unlock different modules within the application

You can continue using what you downloaded from our website, we just need to convert your license

Hope this helps,

Thanks

Great. We are progressing.
Already using the app downloaded from your site.
The "new file" icon and toolbar error is solved.
I will email the receipt from apple store (I still only have the 44,99 from basic version - waiting for the 59,99 Investments version)
Next step: import file from ms money.
I already did it in the basic version and around 5% of records were lost which implies a huge effort to reconcile balances. Any solution to this?
How to import investment data? In the basic version I could not retrieve it from the CSV file.
Thanks

Diogo

Investments import is separate from the regular import because of Microsoft limitations on how they export out the data

Please take a look at this wiki article explaining how to do it: http://wiki.mthbuilt.com/How_to_convert ... nvestments

Not sure where the 5% figure comes from, it could be due to potential duplicate transactions or transfers between accounts not resolved properly

Thanks,

the 5% entries lost are, I believe, what the app thinks are duplicated entries. When importing data, in the end, in the progression bar, it shows "eliminating duplicates". But unfortunately most of this entries are good ones. Is there any way NOT to eliminate false duplicates when importing files?
Thanks.
