Problem when reconciling an account

This problem occurs when I'm trying to reconcile my account.

If, during this process, I add a transaction using the link in the pop-up window, the added transactions are quite often duplicated in the main database. I found this out when adding a transaction (for an amount of, say, £10) it apears in the pop-up window. If there is a difference of -£10 and I click on the transaction to mark it as reconciled, the difference changes to +£10, which is a value of £20, not £10. I discovered the problem was caused because the transaction had been duplicated in the main transaction window.

The only way I have been been able to resolve this is to cancel reconciling the account, closing the program and starting.

This happens every time I add a transaction from the reconcile transactions pop-up window, but not when I enter the transaction directly in to the main transactions window.

Also, what's the difference between postponing and cancelling the reconcile process, because there doesn't appear to be any difference.

...also, is it possible, when reconciling an account, to add a credit transaction?

Hello,

If you invert a sign on the transaction it will be entered as a credit (ie. negating the withdrawal will turn it into a deposit)
