Entries being deleted as duplicates during QIF import

While importing a Quicken 2007 .QIF file into My Money (2.0.32) running on my iMac (OSX 10.5.4) I noticed that some transactions are getting automatically deleted. This seems to be happening where I have two transactions within a few days of one another with the same payee, amount, and category. For example, I've got two $40 transactions with the payee listed as "Withdrawl" and the category "Clothing" that happened 4 days apart. My Money shows both transactions in the import window, but once the transactions are imported, one of the transactions is missing.

This is correct, we look at transactions within 4 business day window to detect the duplicates.
This affects only QIF type of imports.

We are planning to give a new option in the next build to increase/decrease the window or disable it alltogether.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a log or report somewhere that tells me which transactions were automatically deleted as duplicates? I'd like to purchase your product, but am unwilling to search through 1000s of transactions to find the ones that got deleted during the import.

No, its not that simple I am afraid. The transaction didn't get "deleted", it was never written into the database once marked as duplicate, so you can't look at id sequences to see the gaps for example. Replicating the logic is also not productive because you may or may not arrive at what was deemed as duplicate.

At the end of the day it is money, so it is better to err on the more cautios side. I would advise to wait for the build 33, it is actually scheduled for 2 weeks from now and your fix will be there.

Thanks
