update doesn't work

I use money for Mac since 17,9,09 version 2,0,47 (dutch version)
last week I did an upgrade to version 2,0,50 (currency conversion)
but it doesn't work probably
I got an error message (see attachement)

what do I wrong?
do I have to delete the older program before reinstalling the new version but how can I backup my data?

Hello,


1) Please backup your data before installing any update

2) Once you run My Money 2.0.50 it will convert your data into 2.0.50 database schema

3) You can only open this new converted file with My Money 2.0.50 (or higher version), you will not be able to open it with your old version

What happened in your case is that you converted your file and then tried to open it with the old My Money 2.0.47, this does not work

troubles still stay:
I must have done something wrong when I updated to 2,0,50 version.
When I open Money I still see version 2,0,47 (Dutch) I try to make a backup but the menu doesn't show that option
when I'm trying to enter new data or make and safe a transaction report I got the message "database is closed" (gesloten)
Maybe I have to reinstall the program entirely but I fear that all the data (since sept 09) will be lost

Last month I made a full backup of all my data & programs of my MAC - maybe I can use this backup or is there an other solution?

The problem is that you are using an older version trying to access new data format.

Please do the following:

• Please make another copy of you backup, put it into a different location, may be a flash memory or different hard disk.
  
• Unzip your backup into your Documents folder, so it looks something like ~/Documents/MoneyConvert
  
• Completely uninstall your My Money, if you are on a Mac please drag it from Applications folder into recycle bin
  
• Download new version, you can get from http://www.mthbuilt.com/download.html
  
• Put it on the desktop for the time being, please run it and make sure that you can access your data
  
• Once you see that the issues are resolved please put new version of My Money into Applications folder
