Creating New Parent Category

just downloaded 2.0.48.

trying to create a new category. the manual on wiki shows a screen shot of the Add New Category window. in this window it shows a Parent Category section, but this is not available in my version.

when i add a new category using the tool it creates it as a sub-category

i am trying to create new categories, not sub-categories.

Hello,


Please Position your mouse on top-level Category row, for example Income, Expense or Special

Click on Add New

You will see that instead of a list for "Parent Category" you will have select a "Category Type" option

Please type a name, press Enter and your Category will be created

see this screen shot. i highlighted Expense but the software did not change the settings as you indicated
