Help - Database locked by another program

I downloaded My Money towards the end of 2008 and used it successfully to enter my accounts. However, when I try to access the database now it tells me that my database is locked by another program. I have run Repair Permissions, removed any other versions of word on my Mac and downloaded the most recent version of the application.

I was about to purchase the software when I started to experience the problem - now I have lost all confidence. Can you help me because 6 months of my accounts are inaccessible at the moment...

Hello,

You may have another MyMoney process locking up the database, the easiest way to fix this is to reboot your mac.

You also may have a physical file corruption issue, in this case you will need to restore your database from your last backup, either the Time Machine backup or MyMoney internal backup

Thanks for your reply. Rebooting the Mac hasn't had any effect unfortunately. And my Time Capsule crashed completely after I had been using My Money for a while so I don't have a backup of the database (until after the time it started locking me out). How might I access the My Money internal backup? Is there any way of identifying the corrupt file? Thanks.

MyMoney will automatically backup your files every time you exit it, but you need to tell it where to.

Do you remember setting up a backup folder in MyMoney?

Yes I can see the database folder. It contains a log folder a seg0 folder and a serivce.properties file.

Is there anything I can do?

If you had hardware failure then you can't recover the database simply.
