Using the Appstore

Postby Nightowl » Sun Mar 31, 2013 5:10 am

Hi,
i would now like to buy the upgrade, but would prefer to do so using the AppStore. I have a voucher to use there.

Is using AppStorre for an upgrade possible, please?

Thank you.

Hello,

We don't have an upgrade path through app store yet, this will be coming later this year.

App store version is "sandboxed" as per Apple requirements, what it means is that MyMoney can't use the Macs file system so the users are limited to 1 database per app, there is no way to setup external backups, etc

While the versions are interchangeable - regular MyMoney can run with app stores data files the opposite is not true - app store version simply does not have access to your documents folder

Thanks

Ah, OK.

So, if I understand correctly, it would be better for me to upgrade from your site. The App version is probably better for new users?

Thanks,

Pete

Excellent.

Just one more thing, if I may...

If I renew my license now, when will it start from, please? Does it start from the date it expired?

Thank you.

Technically, it should start from the expiration date.

Practically, because many folks have a gap between expiration and renewal we set it to renewal date, as long as the gap between renewals is not very large. We normally allow renewals within 6 month or so after expiration. Anything longer than that would trigger brand new license request.

OK, so as my license expired on the 27 August 2012, I'm very likely to have to pay twice, then?

Oops

Sorry, I was rather hoping for a response.

Am I correct in thinking I will have to pay twice?

Thank you

Please get a renewal and send us an email with a reminder. We will convert it to full license
