Mac Desktop & Windows Laptop - Can I use both

Postby kmo1600 » Tue Jun 09, 2009 4:55 am

I have tried creating a database on my Windows Vista Laptop to sync with my iMac.
However I can not open it on the iMac.
On trying the open dialog just lets me browse through the seg) & log folders but I do not know what to select as it does not auto select.

If this is not possible can I export the entire database between platforms?

Any help would be appreciated.

My Money database is platform independent. You could create it on a network drive or have it replicated through Dropbox and access it through Windows, Mac or Linux versions of My Money.

The database itself is kept in a folder that has a predefined structure, it should contain sub-folder 'moneyDB' and in turn moneyDB will contain 'log', 'seg0', 'seg1', etc

So if your database is called TestDatabase then it will be kept in a folder TestDatabase that contains subfolder moneyDB with a proper structure.

When you browse for the database from the UI you should select TestDatabase folder without going further inside

Thanks

Many thanks for the prompt reply.
I came to you from MoneyDance and if first impressions are anything to go by I will not regret it.
Thank you.
