Checking account only downloads a couple of days

I'm trying to figure out if this product (now testing version 2.0.41) is going to work for me (switching from Quicken 2008). I'm running on Ubuntu (Intrepid) and it seems to be functioning correctly in most ways.

The one thing that is a problem is downloading transactions from my JPMorgan Chase checking account. I've tried it a couple of times and, for some reason, it only downloads transactions for the last 2 or 3 days. Yet it will download a full month's worth of transactions from my credit card at the same bank.

I am able to access much more data through the Chase Web site, Quicken, etc., so I can't figure out why I'm running into this. Carefully tracking my checking account and balancing it is probably the single most important thing for me using a product like MyMoney, so I hope someone can help be figure this out.

TIA

By default My Money asks the bank for the updates since the last download, most banks will keep track of when and how the account data was downloaded and will give only the needed updates.

What happened the very first time you connected to Chase, did you get the full data download ?

Thanks for the reply.

No, I only got a few days worth of transactions for the checking account the very first time I downloaded.

Is it very likely that something fixed in the latest release would fix this problem?

Before we start troubleshooting would you mind capturing a log of communications between My Money and Chase, please see our wiki page http://wiki.mthbuilt.com/How_to_debug_Bank_connection that explains the process.

Please sanitize the log before sending it to us, i.e. remove all user name/passwords and account numbers you may have.

Also, if you aren't on the latest public version (2.0.42 at the moment) please upgrade to it, please note that your personal data files, settings, licenses, etc are not affected by upgrades. You can uninstall My Money first or simply reinstall on top of an existing version,

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick response and the desire to be helpful.

I downloaded and installed the newest version, and the results are still the same.

I also did some experimenting with different variations of AppId & AppVer as described in your Wiki, and that made no difference.

I tried different variations on the bank name (e.g., JPMorgan Chase instead of Chase), and that didn't work at all.

I was able to trace the OFX exchange, and here's a part of the log (sanitized):
</STATUS>
<STMTRS>
<CURDEF>USD
<BANKACCTFROM>
<BANKID>MY_BANK_ID
<ACCTID>MY_CHECKING_ACCT
<ACCTTYPE>CHECKING
</BANKACCTFROM>
<BANKTRANLIST>
<DTSTART>20090503120000[0:GMT]
<DTEND>20090505120000[0:GMT]
</BANKTRANLIST>
<LEDGERBAL>
<BALAMT>CORRECT_BALANCE_FOR_MY_ACCOUNT
<DTASOF>20090507120000[0:GMT]

The DTSTART and DTEND dates are consistent with the fact that there have been no transactions posted to the account since May 1. So how is DTSTART being determined?

Since this is a public forum, I didn't know if I should upload the entire log here. Do you need more information? Could I delete the details for my credit card accounts (which are coming through just fine)? Please advise...
