QIF Import causes duplicate transactions

If I import that same QIF file more than once I get a duplicate transaction created for every transaction in the QIF file. I have tried a variety of settings in the Import/Export menu, but there is no change in behaviour. I am a licence holder, and currently this issue make the product unusable as I have to manually remove the duplicates. Is this a known bug?

I am on v2.0.76 on MAC OSX Lion. The QIF file is generate by First Direct Bank in the UK and imports without any error (other than creating duplicate transactions).

Hello,

QIF files completely lack means of iniquely identifying transactions, as such everytime you import it MyMoney tries to guess whether the data has been already entered or not.

If possible, please use OFX or QFX files, it is a new standard in financial data exchange and it produces much better results when importing data. If your bank doesn't support OFX/QFX (sometime also known as Active Statements) you can try limiting data window, i.e. instead of getting all available data in one go please try one week at a time

Thanks
